Our Liver is the second largest and heaviest organ of our body first being skin which weighs about10.886 kg. liver weighs 1.560 kg. Then brain of 1.263 kg.our liver performs over 500 different functions including fighting off infection and neutralising toxins and helping to clot the blood.

Liver is the only organ that grows back thus making it possible to donate part of their liver to another person. Even if your two third part is removed due to trauma or surgery it will grow back to the original size within four weeks. It is a filtration plant, chemical factory and storage dept. for the body.
